It is widely known to us that dolphins are incredibly intelligent, social and friendly creatures that bring joy to many of us; they are the angels of the sea 



If your an animal lover like me, particularly dolphins PLEASE help raise awareness to stop the brutal massacres that occurs in Taiji, Japan (known as the dolphin cove)

"In the small fishing village of Taiji, entire schools of dolphins are driven into a hidden cove after a prolonged chase. Once trapped inside the cove, the fishermen kill the dolphins, slashing their throats with knives or stabbing them with spears. The water turns red with their blood, and the air fills with their screams."

These killings goes on for 6 months straight every single year. According to the fishermans they do not kill for dolphin meat, it is not considered as a delicacy in their culture but the reason for is that they are considered as "pests" Although at the same time they are incorporating the meat to the children's school lunch programs, even though they are tainted heavily with Mercury.

The reason they are even getting away with it is because they they hide the dolphin slaughter behind barbed wire, ropes and tarpaulin. Killing the dolphins before daylight breaks, they station guards at the mouth of the killing cove to ensure that no one witnesses the blood bath. The fisherman claims that they kill "quickly & humanely" ...many begs to differ.



OKAY, so how can ordinary people such as you & I help?
First, I'd like to admit that I am 100% guilty of visiting animals of captivity paying lots of money to see & interact with these marine animals. I have swam with dolphins and even though it was a dream come true, so to speak it was purely my selfish wants,I've been ignorant and contributing to the cruel activities done against these beautiful, innocent animals.


ISSUES WITH CAPTIVITY
*It can be stressful and traumatic
*The dolphin don't always perform because they are happy, sometimes they've been deprived of food*
*Dolphins in a tank are severely restricted in using their highly developed sonar, which is one of the most damaging aspects of captivity. "It is much like forcing a person to live in a hall of mirrors for the rest of their life - their image always bouncing back with no clear direction in sight."

Some aquariums claim that their animals are "rescued" to what extent is this true? I have no idea, but we should definitely not take it to heart.
It's reported that many of the aquariums around the world actually purchase their dolphins directly from Taiji. This basically just encourages the fishermans to keep capturing them. Thus, the public who buy tickets to dolphinariums and swim-with-dolphins tourists programs help subsidize the brutal annual slaughter of thousands of dolphins in Japan

TAKE ACTION
*Get the word out! bring pressure on to the Japanese government
*Pledge not to support dolphin captivity by paying to see their shows
-Ever since I was little, I always say how much I 'love" dolphins and the marine life..hence always wanting to visit aquariums. Now I finally realize if I truly care about them I will not pay to see them. Observing them on discovery channel will be enough for me! OR if im lucky go dolphin watching in the wild
